Gray Stone Day: Platinum AP Honor Roll

Gray Stone Day School has been named to the AP School Honor Roll for the 2024–2025 school year by the College Board, a national recognition highlighting schools that expand student access to Advanced Placement (AP) courses while maintaining strong performance on AP Exams.

The AP School Honor Roll distinction recognizes schools that demonstrate a commitment to increasing college readiness, broadening participation in AP coursework, and supporting student success in earning college credit. This year, only a select portion of eligible schools nationwide achieved Honor Roll status, with even fewer earning Platinum recognition, which reflects strong performance across multiple AP metrics. To qualify for Platinum level, schools must demonstrate that a significant percentage of their students participate in AP coursework, score well on AP exams (earning scores of 3 or higher), and take a broad array of AP classes throughout high school — all of which signal a robust college-preparatory culture.

“At Gray Stone Day School, we are committed to providing rigorous academic opportunities that prepare our students for success in college and beyond. Earning this recognition from College Board reflects our long-standing commitment to academic excellence and preparing students for success after graduation. We are incredibly proud of this prestigious recognition” said Dr. Melissa Smith, principal.

Advanced Placement courses, administered by the College Board, allow high school students to engage in college-level coursework and potentially earn college credit or advanced placement based on exam performance. Research consistently shows that students who participate in AP courses are more likely to enroll in and graduate from college.

Gray Stone Day School continues to emphasize academic excellence and equitable access to challenging coursework, ensuring that all students have opportunities to pursue advanced studies aligned with their interests and future goals. The AP School Honor Roll recognition underscores Gray Stone’s ongoing mission to foster a culture of high achievement, intellectual curiosity, and college readiness across its campus community.

Gray Stone Day School is a public charter school for grades 6-12 and free to attend.
