Gray Stone Day School Nominated for National Award
Gray Stone Day School was recently honored at the North Carolina Association of Compensatory Educators Conference in Greensboro for being nominated for the 2019-2020 National ESEA Distinguished School Award for Achievement.
This is a National award and each state can send one school from each of two categories.
Ten schools in the state are nominated for the award for high achievement and ten schools are nominated for high performance.
Over 1,000 schools qualify if they receive Title I funds as well as other federal grants.
"Less than 1% of the public schools that qualify are nominated," said Dr. Chris Vecchione, Director of Federal Programs for North Carolina.
"These schools should be very proud of the work they have done."
