National Association of Student Councils Vision Statement
The National Association of Student Councils promotes and provides leadership development opportunities to prepare and empower student leaders to serve their schools and communities.
The purposes of the Gray Stone Day School Student Council:
- To promote student participation within the school and its community
- To facilitate communication of student activities to the student body
- To assist all student councils leaders in becoming more effective leaders within their school, community, state, and nation
- To provide effective programming and planning for school activities and functions
- To coordinate and assist in fundraising for their yearly goals and projects
- To place leadership focus on relevant current issues that affect Gray Stone and to seek active solutions.
We believe...
- Student Council leaders should be vehicles for positive change in their school and community.
- Student Council leaders have the responsibility to be positive role models.
- Student Council plays a vital role in preserving knowledge of and practice in the democratic process.
- Leadership training programs are essential to allow developing leaders to achieve their full potential.
- Student Council programs are meant to encourage school spirit and direct student participation.
