Shadowing

We strongly encourage students who are considering Gray Stone to spend a day with us.  This opportunity explains who we are and what we stand for better than any other forum in which we can present the information.  Shadowing gives students complete access to one of our students for the day so that they can ask questions and get to know people.

We welcome shadowers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from the beginning of October through the end of April.  A completed application to shadow must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to arriving.  The student and their parent(s) check in by 8:20am the day of shadowing and meet the host student.  The shadow will follow the schedule of the host student for the day, including sitting in on classes.  The shadower is invited to eat lunch in the Commons at Gray Stone with the host student for the cost of lunch which is set at $5.50 for the 2011-2012 school year.  Students also have the option of bringing a bagged lunch and microwaves are available.

Students who are shadowing are expected to follow all policies at Gray Stone, including dress code, cell phone use, and behavior.  Students who are unable or unwilling to comply with our guidelines will have to contact their parents to pick them up.  While in class, shadows are expected to participate as if they were a regular member of the class.  We realize that students may find this intimidating, but we can think of no better way for students to get a true understanding of who we are and what we do.

Any questions about the shadowing process should be directed to Shannon Lisk ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .)
