| How to Apply |
Application for AdmissionGray Stone Day School accepts applications from June 1st through December 1st for admission the following school year. Applications must be completed and received by 5:00pm on the day the application process closes to be considered for initial placement. By the close of the application process, Gray Stone Day School will determine the number of available openings for the following school year. Determinations may be made based on class size, grade level, or total population. If the number of applicants exceeds the available openings on December 1st, a lottery will be held the following Friday at 4:00pm in accordance with NC state laws regarding charter school lotteries. Priority will be given to siblings of current students and children of employees. All remaining students will be drawn at random until all available spaces have been filled. The lottery will continue until all names have been drawn with those beyond the available space being placed on a waiting list in the order they were drawn. If space remains after December 1st, applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until all available openings are filled. Names will be added to the waiting list in the order their completed application was received. Please note that it is important for all students to be in attendance on the first day of school or to notify the school as to the reason of the absence by 12:00pm on the first day of school. If a student is absent without notice, the student may be removed from the enrollment list and an opening may be made available to the next person on the waiting list. Applications are valid only for the school year for which they were initially submitted. Returning students are not required to submit an application each year. Students who withdraw from the school must complete the application process again to be re-accepted. |
