Gray Stone Day School has had a Quiz Bowl team each year since the school was instituted. It is an academic competition team comprised of approximately ten students from all grade levels. Students try out for the team by sitting for a placement test that assesses their knowledge in many different subject areas including: history, literature, science, geography, math, sports, current events, etc. Try-outs take place in November and practices are held at least once a week until the county competition, which usually takes place in February. There have been district and even state level competitions in the past but they are dependent on funding which can change from year to year.
