Clark Shelton Scholarship Opportunity
Charlotte's Finest Legacy Foundation announces the 2012 CMPD Officers Clark and Shelton Scholarship Opportunity. These scholarships were created in memory of CMPD Officers Clark and Shelton who were killed in the line of duty on April 1, 2007.
Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to either a high school senior or a currently enrolled college student who wishes to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Scholarship applicants must meet certain criteria to be considered. Criteria include but are not limited to being children of employees or retirees of a law enforcement agency in Mecklenburg, Stanly or Lincoln Counties. The employee may be a swore law enforcement officer or a non-swore employee of the agency.
Scholarship applications must be received by April 15, 2012. Scholarships will be awarded in CMPD award ceremony in May.
