Latimer Accepts Morehead-Cain Scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill

Gray Stone Day School is proud to announce that Hunter Latimer has accepted the Morehead-Cain Scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill.  Criteria for selection include Scholarship, Leadership, Moral Force of Character and Physical Vigor.  Recipients receive a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, books, room and board, a laptop computer, and four summer enrichment experiences involving public service, international research and private enterprise opportunities.  Morehead-Cain nominees hail from across North Carolina, the United States and internationally.  Less than 4% of all nominees ultimately receive the scholarship, making the Morehead-Cain one of the most competitive merit scholarships in the country.

Hunter is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harrison Latimer of Salisbury, NC.  At Gray Stone, she has been involved in activities such as Student Council, Cross Country and National Honor Society.  Hunter is a National Merit Commended Student, an AP Scholar and plans to study Business and Spanish in college.  She is Gray Stone’s first Morehead-Cain Scholarship winner.
