Gray Stone Day School is proud to announce that James Parkhill has accepted the Levine Scholarship at UNC Charlotte. The Levine Scholarship is in its third year and was established by Charlotte community philanthropists Sandra and Leon Levine. Criteria for selection include Intellectual Curiosity, Commitment to Community Service and Ethical Leadership. Recipients receive a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, books, room and board, a laptop computer and four summer enrichment experiences designed to develop leadership skills and social awareness. As part of one of the first Levine Scholars cohorts, James will have a unique opportunity to help shape this scholarship program for the future.
James is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Parkhill of Concord, NC. At Gray Stone, he has been involved in activities such as Project Unify and Cross Country. James is a National Merit Finalist as well as an AP Scholar and plans to study Civil Engineering and Special Education in college. He is Gray Stone’s first Levine Scholarship winner.
