Doing Good in the Community

What Gray Stone’s Student Council Has Been up To Lately

By Raegan Perry

MISENHEIMER, NC- If you have recently visited Gray Stone, then you would have noticed all of the posters that adorn the walls. The Gray Stone student council has been very busy in the past few weeks with several service projects and bonding activities.

First off, the student council has collected baked goods that will be delivered to local firefighters, policemen, and the Pfeiffer cafeteria workers as a holiday ‘”thank you” for all of the hard work that they do. The student council recognizes that these men and women serve everyday to protect our community and to ensure that we are healthy and safe.

The student council is also sponsoring a coat drive for the Salvation Army. They are still collecting coats through the 19th of December. They ask that anyone who has gently used winter coats to bring them in and store them in Mrs. Nance’s office. With the winter season approaching, there will be many adults and children who will not have a warm coat, and the student council is trying to change that.

This Thursday, the council will suit up in old clothing with a broom in one hand and a duster in the other because the council has decided to give the school a gift for Christmas. The entire council has planned to do a school wide clean-up.

Look for more information on the website, www.graystoneday.org or listen for it in the announcements. If you have any questions about how to get involved with the service projects, please contact Raegan Perry (raegan.perry@yahoo.com) or Mr. Hodges, the student council advisor (ahodges@graystoneday.org)
